Who ever said creating a new in-person full day workshop is easy, lied! I’ve put SO many hours into a new in-person full-day workshop that I’m presenting in August. I’m very proud of my efforts. I think this Masterclass will surpass my Bootcamp offering, although I’ll give it some thought on how to market the two going forward. I have plans to adapt the Masterclass to an online (full-day) version.What I’ve learnt:
- You need to put in a WHOLE LOT of marketing effort for in-person events (including cringey video clips and stalking on LinkedIn!). With a catering/venue deadline, it’s not as easy as online workshops where many sign up last minute. It’s like herding cats to get registrations in on time.
- Dietary requirements. That is all. I feel like I’m getting payback every time I wrote “I don’t eat cheese” on my training registrations forms. Please may it all work out on the day.
- Who knew printing was so expensive these days? The last time I did bulk printing was underground at the Neelsie (probably illegally copying textbooks as students do), swiping my Stellenbosch Student card.
- It’s so heart-warming to see so many registrations of colleagues who have done past training with me. Thank you for entrusting me again with your professional growth.
- I’m a full-blown perfectionist (already known, but now 100% confirmed).
- I know AI makes production simpler, but this Masterclass is 100% Nicky. Creating content, slides and finding my funny therapy cartoons are like my own therapy.
